Cyprus Association

The Association of Clinical Laboratory Directors, Biomedical and Clinical Laboratory Scientists (ACLDBCLS) was founded in 1986 and represents the majority of Clinical Laboratories, the Biomedical and Clinical Laboratory Scientists that live and work in the island of Cyprus. It is the only one officially recognized by the Government for the practice of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine in Cyprus. The officers of the Association authorized to act for the Association are 9 (nine) professionals, organized as Members of the Board of the Association.

The Association is involved in the field of Clinical Laboratory Science and its members are mostly persons employed in clinical laboratory science on a professional level, the number of its active members is 139, and holds regular meetings that include scientific programs, seminars and symposia.

The Association has as its main Objective the improvement of clinical laboratory services in health care and medicine, the advancement of knowledge and the encouragement of research in Cyprus. Among the objects of de Association are the protection of the scientific sector of the Clinical Laboratory Scientists as an independent scientific class, the coordination of activities among all members in order to develop a sense of responsibility of the clinical laboratory scientists for the effective, coordinated and well-organized confrontation of the problems they encounter, the overall well-being and progress and professional development and promotion of the profession.
