Protocol of Cooperation Cyprus-Greece
PROTOCOL OF CO-OPERATION BETWEEN
THE (CYPRUS) NATIONAL REGISTER COMMITTEE OF SPECIALISTS IN CLINICAL CHEMISTRY AND LABORATORY MEDICINE
AND
THE (GREECE) NATIONAL REGISTER COMMITTEE OF SPECIALISTS IN CLINICAL CHEMISTRY AND LABORATORY MEDICINE
ON CLINICAL, ACADEMIC AND RESEARCH MATTERS
The (Cyprus) National Register Committee of specialists in clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine and the (Greece) National Register Committee of specialists in clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine (hereinafter called “The Contracting Parties”).
The (Cyprus) National Register Committee of specialists in clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine and the (Greece) National Register Committee of specialists in clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine (hereinafter called “The Contracting Parties”).• Desirous of developing and promoting the clinical, academic and research co-operation between them based on the mutual interest principle, and
• Recognising that the possibilities and the benefits from such co-operation are given, the Parties agree on the following:
Article 1
1.1 The two contracting parties shall co-operate on the various areas of clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine in compliance of the Laws and Regulations in force in the European Union.
Article 2
The co-operation envisaged in Article 1 of this Protocol shall comprise:
2.1. The promotion of joint programmes for:
I. The improvement of the quality of laboratory results in Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine resulting in the general upgrading of the public-health services.
II. The safeguarding of high standards of education and of laboratory specialisation in the field of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine in the two countries.
2.2 The mutual utilisation of joint scientific programmes aiming at the education, the dissemination of knowledge and the tightening of the relations of the Contracting Parties.
2.3 The joint organisation of seminars, congresses, lectures and other related activities aiming at the expansion of the scientific knowledge both toward the scientific community as well as toward the public on matters contained in this Protocol.
2.4 Any other related matters to be specified by the Contracting Parties concerning the academic, technological and scientific upgrading of the two Parties.
Article 3
3.1 For the application of this Protocol and the materialisation of the provisions of Article 2, Dr. Demetris Rizos (President) is designated representative of the Greece National Register Committee whereas Charis Charilaou (President) is designated representative of the Cyprus National Register.
The determination of the specific areas of co-operation as well as the specification of other related areas, where the promotion of co-operation is considered as expedient and mutually desirable, shall be carried on by the representatives of the Contracting Parties, who may also determine the appropriate methods and measures, which need to be taken with the purpose of encouraging and supporting the initiatives of co-operation in these areas.
Article 4
4.1 The expenses for the materialisation of the Protocol shall be covered based on the principles of reciprocity and equality, unless otherwise agreed on specific matters or activities by the representatives of the Contracting Parties.
Article 5
5.1 This Protocol is subject to approval together with the respective statutory provisions in force in each Contracting Party. The effect of this Protocol begins on the date, at which the exchange of notifications is completed affirming the approval of this Protocol by each contracting Party.
Done and signed in Paris in two originals in the Greek and English language, both originals being equally authentic.
